My Approach to Healing
Relational
Relational counseling emphasizes your experience of relating with your environment throughout your lifespan. We will explore your relationships with peers, elders, children, sensations, romance, learning, authority, physical space, anger, desire, and much more. Relational theory of counseling suggests that relationships are everywhere and their health greatly determines well-being.
Client-Centered
This is a popular one! Client-centered therapy radically emphasizes the uniqueness of each client and their healing process. As your therapist, part of my job behind the scenes is to assess and memorize your unique needs and pace as we approach healing. This type of counseling can be profoundly meaningful for individuals struggling with feelings of emptiness, rage, depression, and trauma.
Somatic
I am certified in Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy, which gives a voice to signals my clients feel in their bodies. Most clients have never been prompted to explore this side of perception, but we will explore the wisdom of your body and liberate the trauma that is stored within. Everyone can benefit from Somatic Therapy, especially folks with chronic pain, autoimmune issues, perfectionism, and sensory processing issues.
